Fox and Cabin Winter Painting

This is an acrylic on canvas painting. Titled "Winter Friend" it measures 9" x 12" and is currently for sale in my Etsy shop. Below is the painting before adding in the fox and other highlights.

Here is the painting after adding the fox.

Gold Finches Bird Painting

Acrylic on canvas panel. These little gold finches were too cute not to paint. I really enjoyed painting them. I'm pretty sure their colors darken a lot in the winter so I didn't add any snow with the brighter yellows added in, although I wanted to.

Small Winter Deer Painting

Acrylic on canvas panel. I was painting trees and thought it looked boring so I decided to put a deer in to give the eye more to look at.This is another small 5 x 7 painting so I couldn't put in as much detail as I would have liked.

Beach and Undersea Tropical Fish Mural Wall Painting

Ok, so I've been working on this mural and I guess I'll call it finished now. I could add some more to it but I think it's "ok" the way it is. I needed to do a beach scene on the one side and the undersea on the other side of the room. This mural covers 3 walls in the bedroom while the 4th wall will be covered in fish netting with fish and seashells etc. attached. The beach ball was added as a recommendation as well as possibly putting in some jumping dolphins. Although the jumping dolphins would look good in this, I decided to leave them out. I wanted more of a relaxing beach scene and I think the beach ball added just the right amount of fun to it as well as the seagulls giving just the right amount of movement. I didn't want the eye to get too caught up on having to look around at too many objects. The walls themselves are not smooth but have a pattern to them. Almost like the pattern that you see on a ceiling, so painting with more detail can be a bit harder to achieve and since I am so impatient and need to rush through things I didn't worry too much on too much detail. I think it worked out fine since this is a little girls room. I have done other wall murals and paintings in the past but this is by far the largest of all of them.

Blue Horse Painting

"click on image to see larger view"

I wanted to try doing a monochromatic painting. I haven't done one since I was in art school. This was fun to do as well as my subject matter.I do need to work on this some more but wanted to post something since I haven't in a long time. I see my darks and lights can be a little stronger but right now I have lost interest and need to start on another painting. Hopefully I will figure out what exactly needs to be done to this to make the eye see a more brilliant burst of light. Thats it for now.

A few quick ACEO's

ACEO (Art Cards, Editions and Originals) are highly collectible miniature works of art, created in a wide variety of media. Each one only measures 2 1/2" x 3 1/2".

They are a great way to start or broaden your art collection.

I think I will be doing more of these tiny paintings. It is very challenging to paint so small. The ones above were my very first ACEO paintings and were fun as well as a great learning experience for me with this size work.
